The Slow Food Oxon Book Club will meet at the Summertown Wine Cafe (they've introduced now some delicious home made foods!) to discuss The Accidental Connoisseur: An Irreverent Journey Through the Wine World by Lawrence Osborne. It's mainly available on Amazon.co.uk in used format. The advantage of that is that the price is very appealing!

A tutored tasting of BOURBON, IRISH AND SCOTCH WHISKY guided by 'whisky-passionate' members Mark Gallman and Gwen Dever. This good time will be followed by an optional pub dinner at the Royal Oak, Bishopstone, Wiltshire SN6 8PP renowned for its use of local produce and organic meats. The BBQ will be held at the old ISIS Hotel at along the tow path at Iffley Lock. People can drive to Iffely part near lock and walk acrsoos the Thames to get there, they can cycle/walk along the tow path from oxford or they can catch one of Salters boats to iffely lock for a gentle ride along the Thames.
